Auction Awards

ribbonMost Notable Editor:

Kate Duffy. Kate contributed five reads, Lunch with Kate Duffy at RWA National, a Field Trip with Kate Duffy and Kathy Baker at RWA National, and a year’s worth of Brava Books. Kate also introduced Hilary Sares to the auction, who donated five reads, Breakfast with Hilary Sares at RWA National, and a year’s worth of Aphrodisia Books. Altogether, Kate and Hilary are directly responsible for bringing in a whopping $8,498!

ribbonMost Notable Agent (tie):

Nadia Cornier. When two bidders fought over her Read with a Follow-up telephone consultation, driving the price up to $975, Nadia generously agreed to do two. Then she donated a third critique, bringing in a total of $2,330.

Lois Winston. When I realized I’d mistakenly added Lois to the auction twice, and that both her reads had numerous bids, she generously agreed to do both, bringing in a total of $1,175.

Kristen Nelson. Kristen donated a read that went for $600 and brought a bevy of shoppers to the auction (which is harder to track but also raised lots of money) through her popular blog at www.pubrants.blogspot.com

ribbonMost Notable Author (tie):

NYTimes Bestselling Author Katie McAllister. Katie donated a mentoring package with guaranteed reads from her agent and editor, earning the auction $4,900.

USA Today Bestselling Author Roxanne St. Claire. Roxanne donated a month of mentoring and a library of books that raised $2,174.

Jane Porter contributed a fabulous Hawaii Surf Package and an extraordinary Seattle Travel package—both were exciting items that helped with early promotion. She also supported the auction once it opened by bidding extensively. Jane is directly responsible for raising $2,381.

ribbonMost Notable Publisher:

Once again, more editors participated from Harlequin than any other publisher! Together, they were responsible for raising $11,410.

ribbonMost Notable Helper:

Marie Smith. Marie procured many items on the Best of Sacramento page and some on the For Everyone page. She was also a very active bidder. She was directly responsible for raising over $2,000.

Carol Stacy from RT Book Review Magazine

ribbonMost Notable RWA Chapter:

The Sacramento Valley Rose. The SVR had a tremendous amount of people who donated items (and who helped on the other side by bidding). Together, they raised: $7,732.
